Publisher’s Description

Holly Gibney, a famous King character, makes a successful comeback in Stephen King's novel Holly. In Mr Mercedes, Holly is a shy loner who is brave and ethical. In Finders Keepers, Holly is Bill Hodges's partner. In The Outsider, Holly is a fully-fledged, smart, and occasionally harsh private investigator. In King's most recent book, Holly is fighting a pair of horrifyingly evil and expertly disguising adversaries alone.

Holly is hesitant to take on the case when Penny Dahl contacts the Finders Keepers detective agency asking for assistance in finding her missing daughter. Pete, her partner, has Covid. Her (very complex) mother recently passed away. Holly is also supposed to be on vacation. Holly, however, finds it difficult to refuse Penny Dahl because of something in her anxious voice.

Professors Rodney and Emily Harris reside just a few blocks from the location where Bonnie Dahl vanished. They are the picture of wealthy respectability: married, octogenarians who have been professors their entire lives and who are dedicated to one another. However, they are keeping a sinister secret in the basement of their tidy, book-filled house that might be connected to Bonnie's disappearance. And since they are cunning, persistent, and cruel, it will be essentially hard to figure out what they are up to.

In this affecting new novel by Stephen King, Holly has to use all of her tremendous skills to defeat and outmaneuver the horrifyingly crazy professors.

Conclusion

The plan could be to continue the story and connect with the Mercedes ending and the detective could find the real evil of the story.
